Got provo, and did our usual 3 miles around the park. Nice to get a little bit of a run in after hours of sitting on a bus.

Wierd race today. Got out super good, and settled into my race pace. Decided beforehand that I'd get out quick to avoid the bottleneck of the first 100 meters, then I'd settle in. Went through the first mile feeling pretty good. Second mile I was going WAY too slow. Guess I was just so focused on staying relaxed that I wasn't paying attention to my speed. Started hammering the pace, and passed quite a few people too. Ethan came up on my shoulder right around 600 meters to go, and I knew there was no way I'd let him beat me. Finished really strong. Top 30 got shirts, and I was 31st :(. Oh well. Pretty good race nonetheless. I took off over a minute from my time here last year, and I get to go to Woodbridge!.

8 miles with Matt Ethan and Max out by Little Black Mountain. They showed me this really cool trail down a canyon with a lot of technical terrain/massive boulders. Pretty awesome run. i found a bush with some awesome white lilies that I gave to my sister down there too, and she thought that was pretty awesome.

Michigan Workout today. 1st mile was 5:18, Road miles were 5:51-5:50, 1200 was 3:57, 800 was 2:34, and 400 was 57. Pretty awesome workout. I hit all of my times right in the money zone, and I went under 60 for the last 400, so I get dinner from coach on our next trip :).

5 mile 'easy day' for recovery after the michigan yesterday. Felt a bit flat, but that didn't stop me from pushing it in for the last half of the run. Ice bath afterwards.

16*400m workout @ Vernon Werthen Park. Supposed to hit 1:20s for the first 12, then whatever you have left for the last 4. Went 1:15-1:18 for the first 12, then 1:13, 1:12, 1:11, 1:10 for the last 4. A bit faster than I was supposed to go, but still a great workout.

Drove up to Hatch today. Ran 3 miles once we got there to shake out the stiffness from the drive. Big workout tomorrow.

Awesome workout today with the Varsity Boys up @ Hatch. We stayed overnight in Trinity's Grandparent's cabin. Woke up at about 6:30 for our run, and it was 32 degrees outside! Nice change from the usual 80+ degrees in the morning that I'm used to. 

5 mile warmup. Ran by a lot of horses, and we played a bunch of mind games with them. That was fun. The workout was a 1:1, 2:2, 3:3, 4:4, 5:5, 4:4, 3:3, 2:2, 1:1, fartlek. Pretty hilly trail, and we were at altitude, so it was a pretty good push. Cooled down for milage. Ready for a nice nap after a long, hard week.

Ladder workout under the lights @ 9:15. 2 mile warmup, 200, 400, 800, 1200, 1600, 1200, 800, 400, 400, 200. We had 1:30 rest inbetween every interval except after the 1600, where we had 6 min rest. Pace per lap was 1:16 on everything. Good and hard workout today.

Small workout in the afternoon today before Woodbridge. 1 mile Power Run, and 400 cut down finishes. Ran my mile in 5:00, and the finishes were good. Nice little workout. That was definitley the easiest 5:00 mile I've ever run! Things are looking up.

Drove to Woodbridge today. This race is gonna be crazy tomorrow! Got out of the car and jogged the course. Pancake flat. No suprises there. Did some strides afterwards. Tomorrow is gonna be awesome.

1.5 mile shakeout run this morning

Raced at 9:52 at night. Pretty crazy race.

Everyone went out SUPER hard, so I got out the best I could. It was completley gridlocked for pretty much the entire first mile, so it was really hard trying to pass people. Went through the first mile at 4:54. Things started to thin out a bit, and I tried to start catching up to Bryson and Spencer, but everyone was racing really aggressivley, and weren't letting me pass them. Went through the 2 mile at 10:10-10:18. I didn't see my exact split. Was getting fed up with everyone at this point, so I started to get aggressive. By the time I hit the 800, I had passed at least 15 people. Ethat came up to me around here too and tried to pass me, but I surged pretty well and he fell off. Hit the last soccer field with about 600 to go, and I was feeling way to good, so I hit the jets. Passed like 10 more people there. Got a 15:28. It's an okay time, and a PR for me, but I was really hoping for something closer to sub-15. I'm sure i would've done better if I could've stayed with Bryson and Spencer for the first mile and cut through all of those people, but whatever. On the way back home, we got stuck in traffic until 3 in the morning, so that sucked. Crazy day.

Mile chasedowns @ BHNP today. The goal with these is to pass everyone, and not get passed yourself. You have a group you start with, and the slowest person starts. Every 5 seconds, the next person goes, then 5 seconds later the next person goes, and so on. I was the 4th to last to go in my group. Felt pretty dang flat today, but I still managed to pass almost everyone in the group every time. Good workout. 4*400 m finishes afterwards.

afternoon workout was legendary today. We had 10*500m hill repeats behind the school today. It's a tough workout by itself, but the crazy fast winds and dust flying around made it extra crazy. On the last one, the wind was blowing so hard, we were basically at a standstill, even though we were going at full speed. Probobally one of- if not the- hardest workout(s) I've ever done.

7 mile run by myself. went the first 5 miles at 7:20, then went like 6:00 for the last 2. was supposed to go race pace for the last 2, but was feeling really flat, so l I just settled for a mini tempo.

2 mile warmup, 3*1 mile repeats, 4*400 m finishes, and cooldown to get milage. Supposed to hit 5:24 for the first and third one, and 5:34 for the second. Hit 5:22, 5:32, and 5:10. Good workout. Shouldn't have run it in my brand new shoes though. My pinkie toe is missing most of its skin now.

Pretty crummy race today. I tried to get out good, but everyone went out crazy fast, and got stuck behind a lot of people. Went through the first mile at a pretyt okay time. 2nd mile hit and I had absolutley no energy, and I couldn't push up to where I wanted to be. 3rd mile I just kinda 'got through' it and finished as well as I could've.  I finished 18th. I know that on a different day, I definitley could've gotten into the top 10, but whatever. As long as I don't choke at state, I'll be fine.

We drove up to Salt Lake after the race and camped out at Coach Madsen's place for the night.
