Talked about politice and Satanist statues (don't ask). Went & ran Shnobe Kibe wih my priest group (well I ran at least). Great view from up there.

| 3 in the morning. 12*400 @ Little Valley Park. They're regrowing the grass over there or something, so we had to modify our course. My time to hit for the first 8 was 1:16-1:19, and my split for the last 4 was 1:14-1:11. I hit 1:21, 1:16, 1:14, 1:13, 1:16, 1:16, 1:14, 1:13, and then 1:06, 1:07, 1:08, and 1:05. It was a hard workout, and I did go a bit fast, but I felt good.

| BYU today. Been waiting for this day for a long while. Gun went off, and I was flying. I almost feel like I went out a touch too fast. 1st lap felt fine. Moving ahead of schedule. 2nd lap was a pure mental battle to not barf everywhere. Still hung in there, and managed to make up ground in the 3rd. lap. Got a 17:01, and placed 10th. I'm happy with my placing, but I wish i could've run just a bit faster in order to go to Woodbridge. Oh well. If I had to choose between Woodbridge & state, I'm definitley going to state. Gotta make it happen.

Michican workout under the lights today! For those who don't know what the michican is, it is:
1600, faster than your 3mi. pace (5:15-20),
1 road mile slower than your 3 mile pace (5:45-6:00ish),
1200 faster pace than your track 1600 (4:00 or faster)
1 road mile, same pace as before
800 at a faster pace than your 1200 (2:30-2:40)
1 road mile, same pace as before
All out 400. If you can break 60 sec. on the last 400, coach will buy you dinner.
I hit (or went faster than) all of my splits, and I got 60 sec. flat for my last 400. Pretty solid workout, although I really wanted that free dinner.

16*400m. today @ Veron Worthen Park. Definitley a tougher 400 loop than Little Valley. The plan was to go 1:12-1:20 for the first 12, then drop it as much as possible for the last 4. I went 1:20 for the first one, 1:13-1:16 for the next eleven, then 1:11, 1:11, 1:12, and 1:10 for the last 4. Pretty hard workout today.

| 6 mile warm up out behind Sullivan Soccer Park. Found a sweet new trail out there. 5 mile steady state/tempo run by myself. Hit 6:00-6:15 for my splits pretty consistently. Felt suprisingly good considering the monster workouts i've been doing this week.

Duel in the Desert vs. Pineview. Held at BHNP (course record: 16:08. Held by Kale Sharp). Cool and rainy day. Couldn't ask for better weather! Went out with the top group, and just stuck right behind the lead PV kid. We let him lead for the first mile. After the first mile, Scotty took off and stole the lead, and I stuck right behind him (shout out to Scotty for two slip n' falls around the hairpin on laps 2 & 3. Way to take it like a boss!) 3rd lap Matthew took off, and I went with him. I tried to stay as close to him as possible, but I was just too gassed from the 2nd lap. At about 800 m. to go, Riley and a PV kid started to pass me, and I said "Nope! Not gonna happen!" I passed the PV kid with about 50 m to go, but Riley out kicked me by about a second. I got 17:03. Pretty solid time, especially on this course.
Barefoot cooldown with Scotty and a couple PV boys. Pretty good day.

| Canyon View today. This is a chance for the top JV boys to run varsity while they're at Woodbridge, and I was expecting to do good. I got out fast, and settled right into my pace. Scott started dropping the pace after the 1st mile or so, and I stuck pretty close to him. I finished strong, and almost caught Scotty at the very end. I ran a 16:35. I feel pretty good about it. Hoping to PR or break 16 @ Nebo!

| 3 in the morning. Workout @ BHNP. We did 3*1mi. chase-downs. The way it'd work is you'd be in a group of people, and the slowest person in the group would start. Then, every 5 sec., the next fastest person would go, and so on until you. Your goal is to catch everyone in front of you, and not get caught. My time on the first one was about 5:15, then coach told us to take off our watches and just run. The next 2 felt just as fast, if not faster, so I'm pretty good with it. 4*200 finishes, and 1 mi. cooldown afterwards. Getting pumped for Nebo. I really wanna break 16.

Nebo Invite today. I got out quick so that I wouldn't get caught behind people (the start funnled really quick). The first mile I just stuck behind the top 10 or so guys and cruised. Around 1.5ish Scotty caught up with me, and I stuck right on his tail for the rest of the race. Didn't have that strong of a finish. I think I would've gotten 2nd if I kicked harder. I got a 16:38 for a 5k.ish race which, when converted to 3 mile is about a 16:02; so really close to getting my goal of 15:40. Hopefully I can do that @ Cedar.

10*500m. hill repeats behind the school. The first 5 are supposed to be a bit easier, then the last 5 are pretty much all out. I went 1:52-1:47 for the first 5, then1:46-1:43 for the last 5. Pretty tough workout, but good stuff from everyone.
