2.5 mile warmup, 6*400 m w/ 2:00 cooldown, then 4*150m finishes.  I would've done more 400's, but coach wanted me to only do 6.  Supposed to hit 1:11's, and hit them dead on every time.  Good little workout today.

6 miles on the Rainbow Loop.  Talked about the Civil war and Math paradoxes.  8*100 m striders afterwards.  Helped out with the kids track meet today.  Pretty cool to watch these little guys come out and race.

2 mile warmup, 4*200 starts, 2*150m finishes, 3*300m finishes, and 4*200m finishes, and a 1 mile cooldown.  A little bit of a wierd workout, seeing as we had no pace, no watches and were only instructed to "go fast", but still pretty good.  First workout in like a month.  Pretty stoked to be back at it.

Ususal pre race routine today.  4 miles out to the Spectrum, then 4*200 m finishes. Coach is having me run the 1600 tomorrow at the meet.  I'm not sure what to expect, just getting back from a preiod of not running due to injury, but I'll give it my best and see what happens.

Warmed up, and got my usual routine in.  Didn't feel the best during the race. Guess that's what happens when you get injured and have to stop running for a week. But all things considered, it was a pretty okay race.  I almost matched my PR pre-injury, and I didn't have any pain doing it.  All I gotta do now is qualify for BYU and State

2 mile warmup, 4*1000m @3:10-3:13, 2*300m and 2*150m finishes.  Felt suprisingly good, especially considering my history with 1000s.  Hit 1:13, 1:10, 1:10, 1:11.  Not to shabby, especially for how hot it was.  Good workout.

Not my finest day.  A series of mistakes were made this week.  I got a massage on Wed, and then proceeded to go hiking around Dixie Rock until 11 at night; I didn't bring enough food to eat during the day,  I psyched myself out because it was super windy and hot, and as a result, I only got 4:50. It's pretty close to my PR, but when I finished the race, I knew that I could've hopped right back on the track and done it again.  

Even though it's frusturating to end up running a slow race, I've decided that it doesn't really matter how bad of a race you have.  What matters is if you let that bad race haunt you for the rest of the season.  If you know that you can do better than your worst, don't sweat it.  Get back up, try again, and blow that time out of the water.

2 mile warmup, 3 sets of 3:00 @1600 pace with random surges and an allout 400.  The 3:00 surges didn't feel that bad, but the 400's were a bit harder on heavy legs.  2*200m finishes afterwards and a mile cooldown.  Not the hardest workout in the world, but a good day nonetheless.

2 mile warmup, 3 sets of 600 w/400 recovery, 400 w/400 recovery, and 150 w/2:00 recovery, then a mile cooldown.  Wend 1:46, 1:44, 1:42 for the 600's, 67, 65 and 63 for the 400's, and all out for the 150's.  Felt a bit flat from the run yesterday, but good workout nonetheless.

Crazy day today.  Got to the meet, and the weather was perfect.  Slight breeze, overcast, and about 73 degrees.  Perfect day for running until... the thunder and lightning started up.  Was a little bit concerned about not running at that point, but they let us out to go warmup only 30 minutes behind schedule.  Amazingly, the weather felt even better after a brief downpour, so I felt optimistic.

Before the race started, I decided that I wasn't gonna worry about splits, pacing, or any of that crap.  There's a time and place for it, but that wasn't now.  I took off my watch, stepped up to the starting line, and went ham.  Got out quick, and got about a 69 for my first lap.  Stuck right around there (guessing by effort) for the next lap. 3rd lap I started to drop the pace hard. Coach said that I was way under for BYU, but I kept going faster.  Last 300, there were 6 guys directly in front of me, and coach yelled "Next 6 Gibby!" so I went and got those next six.  Finished in a 4:41, which is a solid 7-8 second PR for me.

As awesome as that was, I'm even more amazed at my teamates. Tyler Phillips got spiked right off the line, and he PR'd by like 6 seconds.  He's going to go get stitches right now.  Awesome dude.
