Crazy race today.
We went out at what I would call a "suicide pace" for this course. We went through the mile in like 5:19, which is normally okay, but for the first mile on this course, that's pushing your luck. Was feeling a bit flat after that mile, so I decided to just lock into a pace and see what would happen, but then Alex Hill and Logan Hall from Pine View came up from behind me and started pushing up and trying to pass me. I managed to drop Alex after about a half mile, but Logan stuck right on me, and we went back and forth for pretty much the rest of the race. I bided my time until the last hill on the last mile, with about 700m to go, and then I took off with whatever I had left. Managed to edge out in front of him, and almost caught a Cedar boy . Just got nudged out of a medal, but whatever. I still helped our team to win our 5th straight Region Championship, and I finally figured out what has been making me so flat for every race. Just need to fine tune a few things, and I'll be good to go and smash some heads at state.
