| 3 miles in the mornig with ginge and matt. We did our 1st workout in the afternoon today.. we did 6X500 m. hill repeats. I felt okay, but I felt like throwing up even before I hit the hills. Ice bath afterwards.

| Major fartlek workout today at little valley. We went 1:1, 2:2, 3:3, 4:4, 5:5, 4:4, 3:3, 2:2, 1:1. Each of the gold boys took turns leading a repeat, and everyone had to group together with that person. I led the last 2. I felt really good, and I'm trying to push up with the varsity boys. I have decided that I'm going to be varsity by the end of the year.

| Today was the day of Cedar All-Comers. I had a really good race today. I ran a 16:25, almost a 45 second PR. I placed 15th overall and 8th on the team. Really good things for the beginning of the season.

| Workout today out at Little Blk. Mtn. We did a 3 mile warm up, 5 mile progression run with the last 2 miles pushing it, and a 2 mile cooldown. I didn't feel that great, what with a sideache and an overwhelming desire to throw up, but I pushed through it and came through.

Desert Relays today w/ pineview. This is a fun little relay we do on the BHNP course. I had 1st leg, which is about 1.04 mi. and I got 5:41. Pretty okay for not feeling the best.

| 3 miles in the morning. Woke up a bit late, so I had to catch up with my running group (Little Ginge, Mad Max, Mtallred and Splints). 5 miles easy today out past the spectrum. I think I'm finally starting to understand what Scott McDougal said in 'Born to Run', and I paraphrase: "They weren't running because they wanted a smaller waist line, bigger sponsors or even a 1st place trophy. They were running for the sheer joy of it. They were running because there was nothing that they would rather be doing, and there was no one they's rather be doing it with."

| Mile repeats today behind Treasure Valley Park. My split to hit was 5:50. I got 5:55, 5:49, 5:53, 5:45. I felt okay today, if a little bit flat. I think I need to get to bed sooner, which is hard with all of this homework I got from APUSH. 3 in the morning by myself.

| SUU invite today. My alarm decided it didn't want to go off, so i had to rush out the door with a banana and glass of chocolate milk to drive up. The race itself didn't go the best. I went out a bit too hard, and didn't even have enough energy to kick at the end. I felt pretty flat, and just couldn't get into my rythym. I think I've been putting too much pressure on my self to do awesome and get on varsity. I just need to step back, look at my goals, and just run my own race.
And I need to figure out why I haven't felt fresh since Cedar All-Comers.

| 3 in the morning with my crew. 8 miles today in the boneyard. My calves were still feeling pretty tight, so it was a bit of a mental workout for me. Coach filled our ice bath tub with cool (not cold) water for us to jump into after the run. It was awesome.

| 3 in the morning with my crew. 2 mile time trial today @ BHNP. I felt substantially better overall. I felt pretty crappy for the first mile, but after I hit the big hill on the second mile, I took off sprinting and didn't stop till I dropped (at the end of course :). 4*200 m. finishes afterwards. I improved my time by well over 30 sec. and I'm going to the AF Grass relays!!! Made my day!

| 3 miles easy in the morning. 8*800m. repeats @ BHNP. We did it over hay bales today to practice to get ready for AF grass relays. Split range was 2:35-2:45. I hit 2:42, 2:39, 2:39, 2:38, 2:39, 2:39, 2:37, 2:33. Felt hard but not too hard. Cooldown and Ultragen afterwards. Getting super pumped for AF! I think I can tear it up if I can just lock into a pace.

| AF Grass Relays: Ran in the varsity junior-senior race with Scotty, Boston, Caden & Joe. Got out pretty fast, and stuck with it. 1st mile was pretty smokin' fast. Everyone died towards the 1.5 mark. Got 11:08, and finished 14th. I felt pretty good wih how I did. Gettin' close to that varsity spot. I hope I can take it for Woodbridge!

| 3 miles in the morning. 25 minute tempo out @ warner valley. 1st 15 min at 6:15 steady state, then dropped it 15 sec./mile every 5 min. until the laste 2 min, which were all out. I felt pretty good, but the second mile kinda cooked me, and it was pretty tough to hang on, but I stuck right in the middle of those varsity boys. I'm not racing tomorrow @ the Dixie Invite, which I'm totally okay with ;)
